West Virginia University Libraries seek an enthusiastic, service-oriented, innovative and collegial librarian for the position of Business Librarian in the Reference Department of the Downtown Campus Library.
The Business Librarian serves as the subject specialist for management, finance, management information systems, accounting, and economics and as a liaison to the faculty in the College of Business and Economics. The Business Librarian provides specialized research services in business, covers some general reference desk and virtual reference duties, develops instruction and instructional materials, teaches both specialized and general library classes, and develops print and electronic research collections in business subject areas. The Business Librarian fosters collaboration with faculty and works to develop effective information literacy strategies to improve student success. In addition, the Business Librarian provides support for an online Executive MBA program.
Minimum Qualifications: M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited program; demonstrated strong commitment to outstanding user services; teaching experience and demonstrated effectiveness of instruction; excellent communication skills; familiarity with technologies that support teaching and research.
Desirable Qualifications: Business library experience or additional degree in a related field; experience with online instruction and courseware; knowledge of library sources for business research; familiarity with trends in academic librarianship and business education.
Rank and salary are dependent on post-MLS experience and credentials.
