Book Collection
The West Virginia and Regional History Collection contains the most comprehensive collection of books and periodicals relating to West Virginia in existence. Subject areas of special strength include state and local history, the Civil War, biography, economic and industrial history, genealogy, literature and the arts. The book collection is non-circulating and is restricted to use in the WVRHC Reading Room only. The catalog to the WVRHC book collection is included in the WVU Libraries Mountainlynx catalog.
- When searching the Moutainlynx catalog, it is possible to limit a search to those volumes contained in the WVRHC.
- Go to the MountainLynx Online Catalog and select the “Quick Limit” drop down menu “West Virginia Collection.”
- This will limit your search to only materials in the WVRHC.
- You can then do a “Keyword” or “Advanced Search” to find materials.
- Subject searches will not work with the “Quick Limit” settings.
