Research Tools
MountainLynx Online Catalog
MountainLynx is the WVU Libraries’ online catalog. It provides library information about books, journals, microform, government documents, and other types of research materials the Library owns. It can be searched by author, title, subject, or keyword and is accessible from anywhere via the Web.

Electronic Journals
The WVU Libraries provide access to more than 26,000 electronic journals. The journals are listed in the MountainLynx catalog and also in a searchable e-journal web site where you can search by title, keyword, or subject. The e-journal list will include dates of coverage for each journal and a link to the issues.

Databases—Indexes, Abstracts, Reference
The Libraries provide access to more than 150 research databases, covering all subject disciplines. Indexing sources such as Web of Science and reference collections such as EngNetBase are listed alphabetically and by subject on the web site.

Find it @ WVU
Find it @ WVU is a linking application embedded in results from Library database searches. It connects article citations in search results to full-text electronic copies of the articles from our extensive e-journal collections. If no electronic copy is available, Find it @ WVU can search MountainLynx for print, and it can seamlessly generate an Interlibrary Loan request for items not available at WVU.

E-ZSearch
E-Z Search provides a quick and easy way to search multiple databases at once. Use the link on the left side of the Libraries’ homepage at http://www.libraries.wvu.edu to use the Basic search to search EbscoHost, JSTOR, Lexis-Nexis and MountainLynx simultaneously. Use Advanced E-ZSearch to select and search a specific discipline across multiple subject databases.
RefWorks
RefWorks is the perfect tool for creating a personal database of research, sharing research with colleagues, and formatting bibliographies and manuscripts in any style required by your publishers. RefWorks is web-based, so it is accessible anywhere, and it is compatible with online research databases for easy importing of citations. You'll find RefWorks on the Library's homepage. Begin by creating a personal account, choosing your own username and password. Off-campus access is authenticated in the same way as library databases.

Remote Access to E-Resources
E-journals and databases are available via the Web from any location. Always begin at the Library web site. From off-campus locations, you will be prompted to enter a username and password when you select a resource. Faculty members use their WVU Master ID as the username and their birth date plus the last four digits of the WVU ID (700#) as a password.
