Welcome to the WVU Libraries Albrecht Durer (1471-1528) online exhibit. Durer was a German painter and engraver from in Nuremberg. In 1486 he was apprenticed to Michael Wolgemut, the chief illustrator of the Nuremberg Chronicle. This exhibit consists of over 40 examples of his work.

The WVU Libraries own many books about Durer. Most of these are in the Evansdale Library, which has the primary collection of art books. To see more of Durer's engravings and paintings, try visiting the WebMuseum of Paris.
