Computers
Fifty one desktop computers on all three floors are dedicated to accessing Mountainlynx (the library's electronic catalog) and numerous Web-based databases. Library users can also use the Internet Explorer 6 browser to access the Internet and e-mail, and can use the Microsoft Office XP Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, FrontPage) to create and edit documents. You may download files on a floppy disk or print short documents. Floppy disks can be borrowed from the Reference Desk.
- Eighteen wireless laptop computers are available at the Circulation Desk for 2 hour in-library use.
- With the laptops, library users can access the Internet, e-mail, Microsoft Office XP Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and FrontPage), and the library's catalog and Web-based databases.
- The laptops are wirelessly connected to a Pharos print station and two laser printers in the Online Public Access Computers area.
- All of the laptops are virus-protected by the continuously updated Norton Anti-Virus suite.
- A computer with adaptive technology is available to aid sight-impaired individuals. Call Mary Strife, Director of Evansdale Library, for assistance at (304) 293-4696 x 5112.
