Printed Reserve Materials

  • Materials on Reserve are available at the Downtown Library Access Services desk
  • Reserve materials include: books, copies of journal articles and book chapters, audio tapes, copies of old tests, and lecture notes
  • You must have your Mountaineer Card or other valid WVU identification
  • Students may come between classes, at night, and over the weekend to do assigned reading, viewing, or listening as their courses progress

Access to information on books that are on reserve is through the Online Catalog, MountainLynx. From the Library Home Page:

  • Select MountainLynx
  • Click on the Course Reserve button
  • Search by selecting from the drop down menus for "Instructor or Course"
  • A list of all items on reserve will appear
  • Click on an individual item for more information
  • For security and accurate usage statistics, each photocopied item is barcoded separately, placed in a labeled folder, and filed by a code that places it with other photocopied materials for that course under the name of the professor.
  • Electronic Reserves

Non-Print Media Reserves

  • Reserve non print materials (videos, DVDs, audiotapes etc.) are housed in the Media Services Department in the Lower Level of the Downtown Campus Library. These course materials are put on reserve by WVU instructors for Downtown Campus classes.
  • Reserve materials are available for two hour checkout within the Library. A valid Mountaineer or Library card is required to check out Reserve materials. Material may be viewed on either our multimedia carrels, or in our Small Group Viewing Rooms. Advance reservations are normally not required but can be made by calling 293-0354.
