Adaptive Technology
The WVU Libraries provide adaptive computing devices to meet the research needs of persons with visual, learning and other disabilities. Adaptive Technology is located in Evansdale Library, Health Sciences Library and the Downtown Campus Library.

- Pentium computer equipped with text magnification, text reading, and voice recognition software:
- Jaws for Windows
- Kurzweil 3000
- Dragon Naturally Speaking
- CCTV reader to enlarge printed material
- Scanner
- Tape recorder
- Laser printer
- Adjustable height workstations

Policies
- Adaptive technology equipment is available only to individuals with disabilities
- Users who require assistance will be referred to the library contact person
- Users who require software training will be referred to Disability Services and Academic Information Services for assessment and training
- The equipment is available during regular operating hours
- Computers are secured with a password that must be entered by the library staff
- Assistance in retrieving books and making photocopies may also be arranged through the library contact person
