Printing and Copying at the Libraries
Prints:
- 6 cents per page
Copies:
- 7 cents per page with Mountie Bounty / All copiers accept vend cards only, no coins or bills
Printing Instructions:
- Printing requires a Mountaineer or copy card card to initiate a print job; you can't use coins to pay for print jobs
- Users without a Mountaineer card may purchase a copy card for 1 dollar, value can then be added to the card to use for copying and printing
- Each cluster of computers is connected to a laser printer
- When you choose to print within the library, the normal dialog box comes up, then the Pharos dialog box appears asking you to name your print job
- Go to the printer kiosk (Pharos) station nearest the computer you are using
- Swipe your Mountaineer Card through the card reader with the magnetic stripe facing you on the bottom of the card
- Touch the screen to select the name of your print job then touch print
- When you are done selecting print jobs to print, you may then logout
- Each page that is printed from the public computers in the library costs 6 cents per page
- If you don't have any money on your Mountaineer Card you may add money onto it using the value add machine located in the copy rooms of the Downtown, Evansdale and Health Sciences Center libraries
Photocopying Instructions
- Photocopies are 7 cents per page with Mountie Bounty
- To use the Mountaineer Card, slide your Mountaineer Card on the card reader next to the photocopier you wish to use
- Once the card reader recognizes the money on your card it will display the number of potential photocopies left on your card
- As long as the card reader is displaying the number of photocopies left on your card, you will be able to make photocopies using the Mountie bounty allocated on your card
- The card readers do time out quickly so if you need more time between photocopies, then you may need to press "*hold" on the card reader to keep the session active or you will have to slide your card through the card reader again
- Once you have finished making photocopies it is advised to make sure that your card's account information has been cleared from the copier. This can be done by waiting for your session to time out or by pressing "quit" on the pad on the card reader
Copy and Printing Cards
- Users may only print jobs if their card is readable and Mountie Bounty funds are available on their account
- Mountie Bounty may be added to student, faculty or staff IDS
- Add-Value (cash only) stations are located at the Downtown, Evansdale and Health Sciences Center Libraries
- Add-Value stations also dispense cards for those users who may not have a student or employee ID
- Cards may be purchased from the dispensing machines for $1.00. This initial charge covers the actual cost of the card and provides incentive to keep and reuse the card. Once the card is purchased, value can be added to the card.
- Funds may be added to these cards with cash at the Add-Value station
- Funds placed on the card at the Add-Value Stations are available immediately
- No change is available
AddValue Machines
- Both printing and copying require faculty, staff, and students to add money to their mountaineer cards. They will have a Mountie Bounty account associated with their ID card. They may add money to their cards at a add-value machine (kind of like a reverse ATM).
- If you do not have a Mountaineer Card or your Mountaineer Card is damaged, then a new card may be purchased at any of the add-value machines for exactly one dollar. Purchased cards don't have money on them initially so additional money must be added in order to copy or print once you buy the card.
- The value add machines accept $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20 dollar bills only. It is important to note that the machines don't give back change, so whatever you put in is put on your card. Machines are located in the Downtown Campus Library, Evansdale Library, Health Sciences Library and the Mountainlair
- Departments do not establish accounts with the Libraries, but the Mountaineer Card Office issues departmental cards. These cards will allow funds to be placed on them from the departmental budget and the costs of printing or copying, when this card is used, are charged back to the department. Departments will be able to use their Procurement card or an Intra-University form to put money on the departmental cards by contacting the Mountaineer Card office at 293-CARD (2273).
Stop by the reference desk or the circulation desk if there are any questions or if assistance is needed
