This digital resource consists of an online catalog to the West Virginia University Art Collection. The collection consists of painting, prints, drawings, sculpture and artworks in other forms dating from the approximately the Middle Ages to the present.
The primary purpose of the catalog is to serve as a record and finding aid to the collection. It may be used by academic researchers studying individual artists, by students and the general public who are interested in knowing the contents of the University’s art holdings. The database is fully searchable by various metadata fields, character strings and with a Boolean search capability.
The catalog consists of accession records and in many cases thumbnail images of artworks. This is a growing resource.
