Reciprocal Borrowing Agreements
University of Pittsburgh
The University of Pittsburgh Library System and WVU Libraries have a reciprocal borrowing agreement that provides the following privileges pertaining only to circulating books at each institution:
- Books that circulate to primary users at each institution are available to registered users from the other on the same basis
- Pitt limits users to ten books under this agreement.
- Users must have a validated library card or another acceptable means to authenticate their current status.
This agreement pertains to students and faculty at both institutions. Fines incurred by WVU users at Pitt Libraries will be the responsibility of that user. Users who do not pay fines and/or replacements costs at Pitt will be blocked from borrowing privileges at West Virginia University Libraries until the debt is paid. This agreement is re-negotiated each year by the respective director and Dean of the participating institutions. Check http://www.library.pitt.edu/services/borrowing/uls.html for further information.
